High Force and Saltholme

On the way to Newcastle, we had a stop to see High Force - one of the most spectacular waterfalls in England they say. It was getting late, so we stayed just a few minutes to snap some pictures. It is in the North Pennines - a beautiful countryside. We had a short drive a bit further up, and i loved it there. We saw lot of Grouses around, but had not time to look around. Had a chance to snap a distant Grouse. It is a place to come back to for sure.

Then yesterday, we stopped in Saltholme. In the car park we were met by a little flock of Waxwings. We have been looking for these beautiful birds a long time, so that was a nice surprise :-) Light was awful, but with silly shutterspeed we did get a few OK images.

We always are so short of time when we visit Saltholme, so we decided to make sure we get more time the next visit there.
