Otmoor

Its been a while since last Otmoor visit, and it was good to be back. A very warm and humid day, but it gave quite a few things. As usual, first along the path to look for dragonflies and insects. A lot less butterflies and other insects than in our last visit, but still many dragonflies.

The famous purple Heron was not for us to see, even it sounds like most people there have got to see it. Arriving to the first screen, a couple of Lizards were out, and one of them was posing nicely for us :-)

Kingfisher were regulary around, and the usual Heron, Cormorants and ducks...Marsh harrier in the distance and a few red Kites.

Also lot of beautiful Snipes!

We decided to walk to the next hide...on the path it was a Hare, and he came so very close...so close that i did cut the ears off on too many pictures in excitement :-( ! A lot of pictures - but it is one of my favourites!

Then...the Starlings already had started the murmuration! Not many this early, but it is a start, which was quite nice to see again :-) And very beautiful to see them as the sky got purple.

Another spectacular thing, is the big flocks of geese that fly over, with the sound that comes with it.

It looks like the fine weather is over, and much colder and cloudy days ahead.

As for the weekend, we have no plans.
